The Alabama Power Way

Welcome to The Alabama Power Way Leadership Program, where leadership is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Over the next 12 months, we will work together to develop skills that will help you excel in your role. This program focuses on core competencies that are essential to the success of Alabama Power.

To provide a comprehensive and enriching learning experience, each of the three core competencies is paired with modules that align with key Alabama Power values: Engagement, Trust, Authenticity, Inspire, and Success. This approach ensures a well-rounded understanding of the key qualities needed to be a strong leader.

The Alabama Power Way Leadership Program is designed to help you explore these skills and values, allowing you to progress through lessons at your own pace while applying practical tips and tools in your daily work. Our goal is to equip you with the knowledge, abilities, and mindset needed to navigate leadership challenges and make a meaningful impact within the probate office and beyond.

PLEASE NOTE: Along with your leadership content, each lesson will include Self-Assessment Questions for you to reflect on as you review your current leadership practices. At the end of each module, you will be provided with reflection questions. Feel free to bring any insights, ideas, challenges, or opportunities for discussion to your seminar sessions.

Welcome to The Alabama Power Way Leadership Program!

The Alabama Power Way Leadership Program
Module Information:
5 P’s for Proficiency

1. Priority

At the beginning of each lesson, you will complete a Skills Self-Assessment. This assessment helps you evaluate your strengths and identify the areas where you may need additional focus. While each leadership skill is equally important, you can prioritize the order in which you approach the lessons within each module to align with your goals and learning preferences.

2. Pace

The Alabama Power Way Leadership Program allows you to set your own pace, giving you the independence to work at a speed that suits you. Being rushed or pressured to complete a set number of lessons within a timeframe can limit your ability to focus on the areas you want to develop. Reflecting on your Skills Self-Assessment will help you identify priorities and guide your journey of leadership growth.

3. Peer Group Seminar Sessions

You have support throughout this journey. Our Eagle Center for Leadership Facilitator will guide and support you in your personal and professional growth during these seminar sessions. These sessions also provide an opportunity to learn and share experiences in a group setting, focusing on practical leadership strategies tailored to the unique challenges you face in your role at the Morgan County Probate Office.

4. Practice

Make time to practice. After identifying the priorities you want to focus on, establish a learning pace that suits you. Use the seminar sessions and reflection questions as opportunities to reinforce the skills, actions, and behaviors you aim to incorporate into your daily routines.

5. Progress

Self-reflection is a vital part of this program. Actively track and reflect on your progress after completing each module by answering a few short questions. This practice will help you stay on course while enabling our facilitators and content team to provide targeted guidance tailored to your needs.

Proficiency

When you become proficient in your leadership, you possess a deep understanding and the ability to perform tasks with efficiency, accuracy, and confidence. It reflects your capability to navigate complex challenges and uphold high standards, building strong working relationships with colleagues and ensuring the success of Alabama Power.

We're excited to guide you on your leadership journey to success!
