Week 5: Eagle Focus

Do Personalities Really Matter?

Now that we have read and discussed personalities and how they impact our leadership of ourselves and others, we can put what we learned into practice.

We will hear the following throughout our time with Eagle Teams: the central part of leadership lies in our relationships with others, both personally and professionally. Knowing others’ personalities is the starting point, however to become an effective leader, we must choose to invest in others.

The greatest myth about relationships is that they “just happen.” The truth is that all healthy relationships are intentional, and take work. The good news is that we get to choose the relationships in which we’re going to invest. With the right tools, we can make significant improvements in our relationships. Understanding personalities is an important tool in order for us to develop successful relationships.

We will discuss this when you meet with your team in week four. As we prepare for this discussion, it might be beneficial to read the Introduction and Chapter One in the Make A Difference E-book. If you have read it in the past, simply take a few minutes to review it.

Remember to use your Eagle Teams Digital Notebook to document any reflections or thoughts you might have after reading.
